What I have beendreading for so long will soon happen. In just a few monthshence, I must leave my beloved Hawaii and go to Englandto complete my schooling. I knew that this day wouldcome, but I am only thirteen. I thought surely I would havemore time here, in the land of my birth. Although when no one is looking, Ishare bits of food with them as well.Ainahau is the name of our home. My godmotherAuntie Ruth gave the estate to me the day I was baptized, and we have lived here since I was very small. My beauti-ful mother chose the name Ainahau, and it means “thecool place” in Hawaiian. We are right by the sea, and the4 [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
